Soy Glazed Mushrooms

Mushrooms make such a delicious and rich side dish and I love to make them when I am making Asian food. They take on the flavor so well of whatever sauce you are cooking with and when you make them with Soy Sauce they turn into a rich brown covered with a beautiful glaze.

Serves 4

  • 1 lb mushrooms sliced- I used white mushrooms and cremini

  • 3 garlic cloves thinly sliced

  • 2 tsp canola oil or other neutral oil

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  1. In a large non-stick skillet heat oil to low. Add garlic and sauté until golden brown. Add mushrooms and spread out to they create a single layer. Turn heat to medium and leave mushrooms to cook on the bottom side for about 3 minutes without stirring. Once you stir the bottoms will have a beautiful crispness and golden brown color. Add in soy sauce and pepper and cook until you see the soy sauce begins to thicken a bit and creates a glaze for the mushrooms. Garnish with any fresh herb you may be using for your main course, I did a bit of Cilantro!
